CHELSEA have named an intriguing line-up for a big West London derby at Brentford.

Thomas Tuchel has decided to hand starts to both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Malang Sarr.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    20. That’s better Brentford!

Ivan Toney has just won his side a corner following some good passage of play.

Can they make this one count?

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    17. First yellow card of the evening goes Mateo Kovacic’s way after tripping up Bryan Mbeumo who was trying to counter.

The Croatian will be treading on thin ice for the remainder of the game.

  • WAHEYYYYYY

Even the little one was worried about how wide Lukaku’s free-kick went.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    16. Plot twist!

It was actually Romelu Lukaku who stepped up and the Chelsea fans wish he didn’t because that was miles wide of the mark.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    15. Onyeka is back on the field but his first contribution is to give away a free-kick on the edge of his own box.

    Mateo Kovacic steps over it…

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    12. Thankfully, Frank Onyeka is back to his feet and looks as if he can continue in this mouth-watering derby.

Thomas Frank will need to keep a close eye on him though.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    9. OOOOOFF, that’s going to hurt in the morning.

Frank Onyeka ran into the 6″2 unit that is Ruben Loftus-Cheek which has left the Brentford midfielder in a heap on the floor.

He is currently receiving some treatment from the medical staff.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    7. It’s all Chelsea in these opening stages as they patiently knock the ball around waiting for an opening.

However, Thomas Tuchel’s men need to be careful because Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo on the break are a dangerous pair to handle.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    5. Timo Werner is chasing everything and is finding little pockets in between the home side’s defence.

The German looks really up for it this evening, those two goals on international duty have possibly done him the world of good.

As for Romelu Lukaku, not much from him in the opening five minutes but it’s still early doors.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    3. Catching practice for David Raya in between the Brentford sticks.

He’ll be hoping for more of that all day long but something tells me it won’t be the case.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    3. Early corner for the visitors who have come flying out the blocks at the Community Stadium.

Thomas Tuchel will be hoping his men can nudge their way in front from the beginning.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    1. Just to paint the picture a little, Brentford are in their home strip of a red and white striped jersey, black shorts and red and black coloured socks.

And because, the visitor’s first kit is mainly blue and white, Chelsea too are wearing their home strip.

  • BRENTFORD 0-0 CHELSEA

    1. We have patiently waited 74 years for Brentford and the Blues to bump heads in the league again but it’s finally here.

    Let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint.

  • LUCKY NUMBER 7

Chelsea need one more away London derby victory in the Premier League from to make it seven wins in a row; something which has never been done in English top-flight history.

As for the Bees, they have won seven of their last nine top-flight matches against sides who begin the day in the top half of the table which gives Brentford a win percentage of 78%.

    Something has to give.

  • TUCHEL TALKS

The Chelsea head coach isn’t letting Thomas Frank’s kind words of the match against the Blues being their toughest opposition to date distract him.

Thomas Tuchel is well aware that Brentford are not an easy side to play against and that because it is the first league meeting in 74 years, the Bees will be buzzing.

Yes, they will be up for it. Of course, they play with a lot of enthusiasm and catch already momentum and enthusiasm for getting promoted after so many years of trying hard.

Finally – Chelsea comes not for a cup game, not for a friendly game but Chelsea arrives for a game in the Premier League.

They have so many points on their side, so many results. The atmosphere will be like this, they play with courage and with a lot of confidence but we cannot be surprised.

  • ARRIVALS

Speaking of Brentford, here come the boys.

I hope they are ready to go to war for the crown of West London.

  • THOMAS’ THOUGHTS

Despite Brentford beating the likes of Arsenal, Wolves and West Ham as well as holding Liverpool to a draw, coming up against the current Champions of Europe in my eyes is their toughest test to date and Thomas Frank seems to agree.

But not only does the Bees coach think it will be a huge test, Frank oddly believes that it will be funny too.

As far as I know, they won the Champions League last year. I also can look at the table and I think they’re number one so they are one of the biggest favourites to win the title this year so it’s going to be a huge task and quite interesting and funny whatever you say.

When we won our promotion in the play-off final, they won the Champions League, I think that’s a very picture of a difference between the two clubs.

  • TAYLOR MADE

With the first elevens and substitutes announced, it’s only fair that I give the man in the middle his own section too.

Today’s referee is none other than Anthony Taylor and to keep it as respectful as possible, Chelsea fans are not happy.

The 42-year-old has been a FIFA-listed referee since 2013 and has been in charge of many fixtures including FA Cup semi-finals and finals.

It’s fair to say that Taylor has made some controversial decisions in his career and one of those decisions came in a fixture between Chelsea and Liverpool where Blues defender Reece James was sent off for blocking a potential goal scoring opportunity with his arm.

Following the game, Chelsea fans launched a petition which was reportedly signed by 80,000 people for the Englishman to never referee a game involving Chelsea again.

Well here we are, almost six weeks later and Taylor is set to dictate another match with Chelsea in the mix; things just got spicy.

  • TUCHEL’S IN TOWN

The town is only big enough for one Thomas and Thomas Tuchel will want to prove that he is number one.

  • CHELSEA BENCH

    1 Kepa Arrizabalaga, 3 Alonso, 5 Jorginho, 17 Saul, 18 Barkley, 19 Mount, 20 Callum Hudson-Odoi, 24 James, 29 Havertz

    That is one strong bench.

  • CHELSEA XI

Thomas Tuchel has so much talent at his disposal so it is a surprise to see that the German hasn’t made wholesale changes from the side who swept the floor with Southampton before the international break.

However, two players who he probably would have wanted in the first eleven are Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva but the pair are absent due to international duty issues so in steps Malang Sarr and Christensen.

The only other change is N’Golo Kante slots into midfield meaning that English youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi drops to the bench.

Everyone else keeps their spot in the starting line-up.

    (3-5-2): 16 Mendy, 14 Chalobah, 4 Christensen, 31 Sarr, 28 Azpilicueta; 12 Loftus-Cheek, 7 Kante, 8 Kovacic, 21 Chilwell; 9 Lukaku, 11 Werner
